Carbondalien Festival

When: November 7, 2026 11:00 AM

Where: The Landing Pad, Carbondale, PA

The Carbondalien Festival returns to Downtown Carbondale, PA, on November 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., transforming the city into an interstellar playground that celebrates the town’s most famous mystery—the 1974 UFO crash in the Silt Pond. Now in its second year, the festival builds on last year’s success with an expanded lineup of cosmic fun. Festivities begin Friday, November 6, with the Lighted Parade, costume contest, and a special concert, setting the stage for a weekend of out-of-this-world entertainment. On Saturday, the main event kicks off at The Landing Pad in the downtown business district, featuring:

  • Live music, a cosmic marketplace, food trucks, craft beer, and artisan spirits

  • Interactive art displays, alien sightings, and family-friendly activities

  • Guided reenactments of the UFO crash at Russell Park, complete with a shuttle to the historic site

  • Scenic rides aboard the Extraterrestrial Express steam train from Scranton

  • Alien hot air balloon rides for sky-high views and photo ops

Admission is free, though VIP tickets offer exclusive perks for those wanting a premium experience. Visitors are encouraged to explore Carbondale’s unique shops and restaurants, enjoy the town’s small-town charm, and even stay at Hotel Anthracite, a boutique hotel located steps from the action. With music, food, history, and mystery woven together, the Carbondalien Festival has quickly become one of Lackawanna County’s most unique and quirky fall celebrations—perfect for UFO enthusiasts, history buffs, and families seeking intergalactic fun.
